MARIETTA, GA, December 10, 2009—Tai Ping, an international custom company with operations in more that 100 countries, has entered into a partnership agreement with Wools of New Zealand for use of the Laneve fiber integrity brand.

Wool Partners International, the parent company of Wools of New Zealand, recently launched Laneve as a specialty fiber brand that sits alongside the Wools of New Zealand Brand on qualifying products. Its use attests to the integrity of the wool and relates exclusively to traceable wool that meets specific standards for on-farm practices, animal welfare, sustainability, traceability and the environment. As a Laneve partner, Tai Ping will utilize this accredited wool in select carpets and rugs sold throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

Tai Ping is recognized as the carpet designer and manufacturer of choice for a discerning global clientele. Its collections, which include over 10,000 designs, grace the floors of high-end residences and palaces, private jets, yachts, hotels, casinos, airports and convention centers around the world. The company is publicly traded on the Hong Kong stock exchange

Tai Ping is a vertically integrated enterprise, with carding, spinning, dyeing, Axminster, hand-tufting, pass-tufting, machine-tufting, Wilton, automotive and carpet tile capabilities. The company primarily uses New Zealand wool in the making of its custom floor coverings and plans to use Laneve brand fiber in select Tai Ping and Edward Fields collections. Edward Fields, a luxury company noted for its handmade expertise, was purchase by Tai Ping in 2005.

Eric Cooper, Tai Ping’s Vice President of Global Technical Operations and Sustainability, said today: “New Zealand wool has long been our fiber of choice. Not only does it support our sustainable commitment, it provides the clarity of color, strength and luxurious luster our high-end clientele demands.

“As a Wools of New Zealand partner since 1995, it makes perfect sense for us to embrace the use of Laneve. This branded fiber is traceable to source and complies with third-party accredited standards for environmental protection, animal welfare, careful chemical use, social responsibility and even record keeping. We applaud this enhanced focus on sustainable practices and are pleased to be an Inaugural Laneve Partner.”

Wools of New Zealand, Executive Director for North America, Elise Demboski, said the company was delighted to partner with Tai Ping, whose respected global presence elevates the sustainable excellence of Laneve and paves the way for a collaborative focus on the environmental issues that affect today’s business practices.

“Our partnership with Tai Ping builds on the presence already established by Wools of New Zealand internationally and on Laneve in the United States, where we have so far announced 18 Laneve brand partnerships.”

“The Laneve program is helping to build a broader base of committed purchasers of New Zealand wool. Along with the relationships already in existence for the Wools of New Zealand brand and a range of contracts for other forms of commercial supply, this will increase the overall demand for New Zealand wool and thus help realise the true value of our clip.”
