CREATIVE ACCENTS FEATURED IN NYC MEDIA PREVIEW

The Papillion is a Wools of New Zealand Brand rug from Creative Accent’s Rick Lee Collection

MARIETTA, GA, September  1, 2009—Wools of New Zealand partner, Creative Accents, recently headed to the Big Apple to participate in a New York Media Preview hosted by the Las Vegas-based World Market Center (WMC). Creative Accents showed a new design from its second collection of luxury rugs by Rick Lee in the juried display of home furnishing products held at the Museum of Arts & Design on August 17.

Creative Accents was one of 18 companies that exhibit at the WMC trade shows in Las Vegas, which were invited to participate in the event that drew approximately 200 designers and media representatives. Major newspapers and shelter magazines including, The New York Times, Metropolitan Home, Veranda and Real Simple attended the Preview intended to generate interest in the WMC next market, Sept. 14-17.

The trip from Tehachapi, CA, to New York was well worth the effort, according to Ryan Beauchamp of Creative Accents. “There were preview products scattered on three floors of the Museum. For us to have that much press preview our products for the Las Vegas market was great,” Beauchamp stressed.

Creative Accents introduced its first collection of Rick Lee rugs in 2008. “From the beginning, Rick Lee requested the Wools of New Zealand brand. He was adamant that everything used in the rugs be environmentally friendly,” Beauchamp noted.

The design shown in the New York preview is The Papillion. It is hand tufted in New Zealand wool in an all-cut pile construction using four custom colors created in the Creative Accents’ own dye house. Other designs in the collection have low loop pile details and/or hand carved accents.

“We will be promoting that the rugs are made of New Zealand wool and carry the Wools of New Zealand brand assuring quality and performance. The brand is especially important with designers and their clients because the price points are higher and the brand stands for excellence. This customer is asking for Wools of New Zealand products,” stated Beauchamp.

Average suggested retail for a 5 x 8 is $1900.
